This training aims to empower participants with theoretical and practical knowledge about seeds and nursery management. Over two days, we will cover topics such as the importance of seeds in food security and biodiversity conservation, seed production and management techniques, and the establishment and administration of plant nurseries.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the anatomy and physiology of seeds, methods of harvesting, processing, and storage, as well as the selection of varieties and genetic improvement. The program will also cover principles of seed production in sustainable agricultural systems, pollination techniques, pest and disease control, and seed quality care.
We will explore the planning and implementation of plant nurseries, techniques of vegetative propagation, young plant management, post-germinative care, pest and disease control in nurseries, and marketing strategies.
At the end of the program, participants will receive a certificate recognizing their knowledge and skills in seed production and management, as well as in the establishment and management of plant nurseries.
