Volunteering Conditions at Aldeia do Vale Permaculture Project, Portugal - We open to volunteer program in March 2024 

Welcome to Aldeia do Vale!
We appreciate your interest in contributing to our permaculture project in the beautiful region of Sintra, Portugal. Below are the conditions for volunteering with us:

1. Commitment: Minimum duration of 1 month.
2. Meals: Volunteers will take turns preparing meals in our communal kitchen, which is available 24 hours a day. We encourage shared responsibility for meal planning and preparation to foster a collaborative community spirit.
3. Work Schedule: 5 hours per day. Tasks include, but are not limited to:
   • Natural building
   • Mushroom cultivation
   • Agroforestry maintenance
   • Firewood collection
   • Project kitchen activities
   • Food preservation
   • Animal care
   • Composting
   • Wood structure construction
   • Water management in the landscape
   • Seed collection
   • Cleaning and maintenance of the project
4. Accommodation: Camping is the provided accommodation option. Please bring your own tent and camping gear for a unique, nature-immersed experience.
5. Learning Opportunities: Engage in hands-on learning experiences in permaculture principles, sustainable agriculture, and ecological design. Workshops and training sessions are provided.
6. Community Engagement: Embrace community living by participating in communal activities and events. Respect for fellow volunteers and community members is paramount.
7. Language: A basic understanding of English or Portuguese is recommended to ensure effective communication within the community.
8. Transportation: Volunteers are responsible for their transportation to and from Aldeia do Vale. Directions and guidance will be provided upon acceptance.
9. Application Process: Complete the online application. Successful applicants will be contacted for further details.
10. Fees: While there is no volunteer fee, a contribution of 20€ week is requested to cover basic expenses. This can be discussed during the application process.
